The not so glamorous side of my trips to Ecuador

If you were to look at my socials lately, you would notice that there is a lot of travel back and forth to Ecuador. Yes, I am the president of a touring agency, yes, I have family who lives here who I love, and yes I love Ecuador, but the not so glamorous reason for my travel to Ecuador is a financial one. Medical treatment here is a fraction of the cost in the US. So when I needed my 3rd implant, I had to say no to my dentist in the states, whose asking price is over 10k!! My very expensive grill has cost me over 30k & I didn't want to pay out more than I needed to. Enough is enough! I recently had to cough up over 4k for my son's root canal. 😬
It's a bit much! A root canal alone in Ecuador is less than half. For 4k, you could have your treatment, medication, recover, relax and tour! Why not use your money in the best way possible?

I decided to take that route for the 1st time in December 2023 with a bone restoration surgery.
It was a tough procedure and recovery, but it was worth it because in the end, I had such a good time! (I would not, though, recommend traveling for 3 hours, 3 days after that particular surgery, but I am sure glad we did.)
We had the best time!
I love traveling in Ecuador! There is so much to see! I stayed in Guayaquil the majority of the trip, but drove with my cousin Miguel to Cuenca and Ivette, my VP, flew down from Quito.  It was a whirlwind of fun!

The next procedure took place in Quito (the capitol of Ecuador) in March. The dentists there were professional and kind. Their office up-to-date and clean.
Here is the view from the chair..

My recovery time was significantly shorter and I had the ability to tour for a longer period.
We hit the ground running and encountered a lot of beautiful places and people.

This time around, I'm back in Guayaquil for my implant surgery. While it was no picnic in the park, it was way better than the first surgery!!
Before it was time for the implant procedure, we visited some locations in and around Guayaquil.  We visited a couple of hotels and hit the beach!
When we got home from the beach, it was time for the procedure.
Here is Dr. Michelle Torres Fonseca

and Dr. Andres, her assistant as well as his wife, Dr. Maria Jose, a tissue specialist,  who consulted.

Everything went well, as expected and recovery has been great, just a little inflammation. I had a bunch of rest and relaxation...
and here I am today, after a much needed eyebrow treatment!
All is well! Today I got another x-ray and everything looks good!
Tomorrow,  I get to visit another Hacienda called Hacienda Danesa! Check back later for more!

Health Tours coming soon! Who's coming?
